[08/29/16]   Good evening everyone!

Welcome back. I hope that the beginning of the semester is off to a great start for everyone!

This week marks the first event of the school year for the Family Law Society. This Thursday, September 1st at 12:30 in Room 209, is our first general body meeting. During the meeting we will discuss the wonderful events we have planned for this semester and more! *We will be providing food during this meeting!*

Also, we encourage all 1L students who have a passion and interest in Family Law to try out for the 1L representative position on Thursday. This is a great opportunity for a new member to get their foot in the door with the society and to help promote the society to their fellow classmates. We ask that if you are interested in the position that you share a few words at the meeting about why you are interested in the position as well as any previous experience you had on an e-board! The e-board will hold a vote for the position directly following the meeting.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our first general body meeting and welcoming in all new 1L members! Our e-board has worked hard to plan a great year of events for the society and we are eager to share what we have planned with you.

Thank you all!

Maribeth Hunt

[08/21/16]   Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to thank all the 1L's for signing up with the Family Law Society today, as well as welcome back the rest of the members.

This semester we have a lot of great events planned that we cannot wait to share with you at our general body meeting on Thursday, September 1st at 12:30pm. As of now the room has not yet been determined but we will make sure to keep you updated! And just a little will be served!!

Additionally, I wanted to let all the 1L's know that our 1L rep position is available. As a 1L rep you will be responsible for notifying your fellow classmates on our upcoming events and encouraging them to come to meetings; as well as letting us know what events they would be interested in us having for them!! If you are a 1L and are interested in running for the position, please have a small speech prepared for the general body meeting and state: why you are interested in the position as well as any previous experience you had on an e-board!!

We look forward to seeing everyone at our first general body meeting and welcoming the 1L's!

Thank you all!

[08/08/16]   Hello everyone!

Hope everyone's summer is going well!

I am reaching out to all of you with a possible employment opportunity for the Fall semester.

The internship would be at a family law office in Huntington as a Legal Research Assistant with Louis Sternberg, Esq. He wanted to reach out to see if any Touro students from the Family law Society would want to take the position. He asked that you give him a call on his cell, 516-582-3295 to further discuss the opportunity.

It would be a part-time position during the fall semester with flexible hours and its paid. It is really great opportunity for members who might want a little extra cash and gain experience in the family law field.

Let me know if you have questions!
