Is it a crime to forge a vaccine card? And what’s the penalty for using a fake?

"I didn't think I would get caught or that the punishment could be so severe."

I've heard this a thousand times.

Call me for any type of legal troubles.

Is it a crime to forge a vaccine card? And what’s the penalty for using a fake? People who forge their own vaccine cards, or buy forged cards, are already facing legal problems, including criminal charges.

🚨Labor Day Weekend Impaired Driving Enforcement🚨

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department, in coordination with the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force, will participate in increased DUI enforcement efforts this holiday weekend.

The Sheriff’s Department is dedicated to its mission of taking impaired drivers off of our roadways and making it safer for the citizens of Pima County.

DUI is a 100% preventable crime that too often results in the death or injury of those we care for. Make a plan before going out, designate a driver, and use a taxi service, Uber or Lyft. Don’t let someone you care about drive impaired.

Drivers caught while impaired can expect jail time, large fines, attorney fees, loss of driving privileges and a criminal record that will affect employment.

Operational funding and equipment were made available through grants awarded by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

Be careful out there. Uber if needed. It's much cheaper than a DUI.

DUI Sobriety Checkpoint

On July 4, 2019, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting a DUI Sobriety Checkpoint and will have increased DUI patrols throughout the holiday weekend. The Sheriff’s Department is dedicated to its mission of taking impaired drivers off the roadway and making it safer for the citizens of Pima County. They will continue their efforts to eliminate impaired driving in Pima County. Remember “buzzed” driving is impaired driving.

If you are stopped you may:

Lose your license
Have your vehicle impounded
Pay excessive attorney’s fees
Be fined upon conviction
Be required to install an ignition interlock device in your vehicle (at your cost)
Spend time in jail
End up with a criminal record

Make a plan BEFORE going out and consuming alcohol. Here are a few safety tips:

Prior to drinking designate a non-drinking driver

Have a friend drop you off where you will be drinking. This forces you to use another avenue home.
Preplan your ride home. Get a ride from a sober driver, or use a service like, Uber, Lyft, or a taxicab.

Operational funding and equipment were made available through grants awarded by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS).

IMPAIRED DRIVER ENFORCEMENT
THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY WEEKEND

The Tucson Police Department Impaired Driver Enforcement Unit will have increased DUI enforcement efforts this Thanksgiving Holiday as part of the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force.

Starting November 22, 2017, through November 25, 2017, officers from the Tucson Police Department will conduct high visibility DUI deployments throughout the community. Along with other participating law enforcement agencies from Southern Arizona, the Tucson Police Department will deploy additional officers and resources in DUI saturation patrols. The goal of the saturation patrols is to increase the awareness of motorists regarding the dangers of impaired driving, deter those who may be impaired from driving and investigate DUI offenses to reduce the number of impaired drivers on the road. These saturation patrols are an important component in the Tucson Police Department's continued effort to combat impaired driving and reduce injuries and deaths.

This DUI deployment is one of fourteen designated weekend DUI deployments the Tucson Police Department will participate in as part of the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force in 2017. Funding for these deployments was made available through a grant awarded from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety for the purpose of conducting DUI saturation patrols and DUI Task Force operations.

The Tucson Police Department encourages drivers to NOT drink and drive. If you choose to consume alcohol, utilize a designated sober driver, taxicab, or ride share service to avoid putting lives at risk. Driving under the influence is against the law and 100% preventable. Please, make the right choice and have a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving Holiday.
